TRAINING COURSE

The University of Pisa, via the EUWONDER project – European Women’s Law and Gender – organizes a training course for high school teachers devoted to the topics of European integration, gender equality and the fight against inequalities.
The EUWONDER course promotes awareness and a focused knowledge of European legislation, in particular through the promotion of the “Equality European Roadmap” to teachers.
In the training course, the guidelines in which the principles of gender equality and equal opportunities are embedded, as well as their multiple manifestations and implementations, will be explored. This focus will also provide with substantive tools in order to design, together with the EUWONDER teaching staff, innovative approaches in civic education. The latter will thus have a consequent positive impact – fostering a virtuous circle – on students’ education.
Due to civic education current relevance, in addition to teachers’ commitment – regardless their disciplines – on the (transversal) subject, and the centrality of the United Nations Organization Agenda 2030, the program aims at delivering knowledge and teaching tools. Its main goal is hence the development of skills in relation to Goals 5 and 10 of the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development specifically, but transversally also on all the European scenario objectives for sustainable development.
- Teaching in class, Law Department of the University of Pisa; 6 hours for each training group (for 3 groups of teachers)
- Shared teaching and feedback in the involved schools (4 hours for each school, with the participation of the teachers who attended the course and at least 1 trainer among the university professors involved in the course)
The first part of the program will take place in November and December 2023, the second part in February and March 2024.
